Policy 1: Community Guidelines
VoltNexus is an online game shared by millions of players. These guidelines set the baseline for how we expect everyone to treat each other — in game, in chat, and in all official community spaces.
What We Expect
- Treat other players with basic respect, even during competitive play.
- Keep chat and in-game communication appropriate for a Teen-rated (ESRB T / PEGI 16) game.
- Do not post, display, or share content that is hateful, sexually explicit, or intended to disturb or upset others.
- Do not disrupt other players' gameplay through intentional griefing, blocking, or abuse of game systems.
- Follow all rules whether you are in public zones, player-owned Nodes, Guild (Crew) spaces, or official VoltNexus community platforms.
Player-Created Content
Any content you post in the game world — signs, murals, Node decorations, Crew names, or profile bios — must follow these guidelines. Content that violates our standards will be removed and the account may face penalties.
Crew (Guild) Responsibility
Crew Leads are responsible for maintaining a standard of behavior within their Crew spaces. Crew names, descriptions, and official Crew communications must comply with these guidelines. Crews that repeatedly produce violations may be disbanded.
These Rules Apply Everywhere
These guidelines apply to all communication channels in VoltNexus: World Chat, Zone Chat, Whisper/DMs, Voice Chat, in-game Mail, and player-created content. They also apply to official VoltNexus spaces outside the game, including our Discord server, forums, and social media.
Violations of these guidelines may result in a warning, mute, temporary suspension, or permanent ban. See Policy 5 (Enforcement & Appeals) for the full penalty framework.
Policy 2: Harassment & Bullying Policy
VoltNexus has zero tolerance for harassment and bullying. This policy defines what those behaviors look like and what happens when they occur.
What Counts as Harassment
Harassment is any behavior directed at a specific player that is unwanted, repeated, or severe enough to make them feel unsafe or unwelcome. Examples include:
- Repeatedly sending hostile or insulting messages after being asked to stop
- Following or targeting a player across zones or sessions to intimidate or disrupt them
- Threatening violence, account sabotage, or real-world harm against another player
- Sending unsolicited sexual or romantic messages
- Organizing others to pile on, attack, or mass-report a specific player (coordinated harassment)
What Counts as Bullying
Bullying is behavior designed to humiliate, demean, or cause ongoing distress to another player. Examples include:
- Mocking a player's skill, appearance, identity, or personal circumstances
- Repeatedly insulting or belittling a player in public chat
- Sharing or threatening to share private or embarrassing information about a player (doxxing)
- Using in-game systems — such as trade, party, or housing invitations — as a tool to bait and humiliate players
Hate Speech
Content or language that attacks a person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other protected characteristics is never allowed. This includes slurs, dehumanizing comparisons, and calls for discrimination.
Competitive Play Is Not an Excuse
PvP zones, ranked matches, and faction warfare are part of the game. Trash talk and rivalry are normal. However, targeting players with personal attacks, slurs, or sustained abuse is harassment regardless of whether it happens during competitive play.
How to Report
- In-game: Right-click any username → Report → Harassment or Hate Speech
- Web: support.voltnexus.com/report
You can also block any player at any time. Blocking prevents all communication, trade, and party invites from that player.
Severe harassment — including threats of real-world violence or doxxing — may be escalated to law enforcement. See Policy 5 for the full enforcement framework.
Policy 3: In-Game Economy & Currency Policy
VoltNexus has three currencies. Understanding what you can and cannot do with each one is important — violations can result in a currency wipe, account suspension, or permanent ban.
Arc (Ω) — Earn-Only Currency
Arc is earned through gameplay: quests, PvE content, selling to NPC vendors, and salvaging gear. Arc cannot be purchased with real money and cannot be traded between players. It is spent at NPC vendors and contributed to Crew Vaults.
Flux (Fx) — Premium Currency
Flux is purchased with real money in the Nexus Store (100 Fx = $0.99 USD). It is used for cosmetics, battle passes, and convenience items. Flux cannot be traded between players and cannot be converted back to real money under any circumstances. Flux purchases are non-refundable after 30 days.
Volt (V) — Player Trade Currency
Volt is the player-to-player economy currency, central to VoltNexus's lore and game world. It is earned through trading, the auction house (The Exchange), PvP loot, and Crew contracts. Volt can be freely traded between players.
Because Volt is freely tradeable, it is the most commonly abused currency. The rules below exist to protect the in-game economy and all players.
Prohibited Activities
The following actions violate VoltNexus's Terms of Service and will result in enforcement action:
- Selling, buying, or exchanging Volt, Arc, Flux, or in-game items for real-world money (Real Money Trading / RMT)
- Selling or buying a VoltNexus account for real-world money
- Advertising or promoting RMT in any in-game chat channel or official community space
- Using bots, macros, or automated scripts to farm Volt or items for resale
- Using third-party websites to exchange in-game currency for cash
- Exploiting bugs or duplication glitches to generate Volt or items
Common Scams — Know What to Watch For
NexCore Studios will never offer you free Volt, Flux, or items through unsolicited DMs or social media. Common scams to avoid:
- "Double your Volt" offers: A player asks you to send them Volt first, then promises to return double. They keep your Volt and disappear.
- "Cheap Volt" services: Third-party Discord servers or websites offering discounted Volt are typically fronts for account theft or fraud.
- Fake giveaways: Posts claiming to be official VoltNexus giveaways that ask for your login credentials. These are phishing attempts.
- Fake NexCore staff in DMs: Someone claiming to be a NexCore employee and offering Flux refunds or rewards in exchange for account verification. NexCore staff will never ask for your password.
- "Middleman" trades: A third party offers to broker a Volt-for-cash trade. This is an RMT violation for all parties involved.
If you are unsure whether something is legitimate, contact support at support.voltnexus.com before proceeding. When in doubt, don't send anything.
Policy 4: Cheating, Exploits & Unfair Play Policy
VoltNexus is a competitive game. Cheating undermines the experience for everyone. This policy covers prohibited tools, behaviors, and the consequences for using them.
Prohibited Tools & Software
Using any third-party software that gives you an unfair advantage is prohibited. This includes:
- Aim assistance, speed hacks, or damage modification tools
- Bots or automation scripts that play the game on your behalf
- Software that reads or injects game memory to reveal hidden information (wallhacks, ESP overlays)
- Macros that automate complex actions beyond what is permitted by the game client
Prohibited In-Game Behaviors
- Intentionally exploiting bugs or glitches to gain items, currency, or advantages that are not intended by the game design
- Duplicating items or currency through any method
- Colluding with opposing-faction players in PvP zones to farm rewards in a way that is not intended (match-fixing)
- Account boosting for payment: paying another player or service to play on your account, or being paid to play on someone else's
- Sharing your account login with another person for any reason
Bug Reporting
If you discover a bug or exploit, please report it immediately at support.voltnexus.com rather than using it. Players who report significant exploits in good faith will not be penalized. Players who use an exploit — even once — are subject to enforcement action.
Consequences
Cheating violations are treated seriously. Depending on the severity:
- First offense: Temporary suspension (3–30 days) and possible currency wipe
- Repeat offense or severe cheating: Permanent account ban
- Selling or distributing cheating software: Permanent ban and potential legal action
Hardware bans may be applied in severe cases, preventing the device from accessing VoltNexus regardless of account.
Policy 5: Enforcement & Appeals Policy
This policy explains how VoltNexus handles rule violations and how players can appeal decisions they believe are unfair.
How We Enforce
VoltNexus uses a combination of automated detection (NexFilter AI), community reports, and reviews by the Trust & Safety team. Violations are reviewed and penalties are applied to the account — not just the character.
Penalty Ladder
Penalties escalate based on severity and frequency:
- Warning: Issued for a first minor violation. No restriction applied, but the violation is on record.
- Chat Mute (24 hours, 72 hours, or 7 days): Applied for escalating chat violations. You can still play, but cannot send messages.
- Temporary Suspension (3, 7, or 30 days): Applied for serious violations or repeated chat mutes. Full account access is restricted.
- Permanent Ban: Applied for severe violations or repeated suspensions. Account access is permanently revoked.
- Currency Wipe: Applied alongside suspensions or bans for economy violations (RMT, exploits, fraud). Volt, Arc, and affected items are removed.
- Legal Referral: Reserved for cases involving CSAM, credible threats of violence, or fraud exceeding $500 USD. Referred to law enforcement.
Ban Evasion
Creating a new account to get around a ban is itself a violation. If we detect ban evasion, the new account will receive an immediate permanent ban, and the penalty on the original account may be escalated. Hardware bans may be applied.
How to Appeal
- Go to support.voltnexus.com/appeals
- Log in with your Axiom Account
- Select the penalty you are appealing and provide your explanation
Appeals are reviewed by a member of the Trust & Safety team who was not involved in the original decision. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
What We Consider in an Appeal
- Whether the evidence supports the original decision
- Whether the penalty was proportionate to the violation
- Your account history and any prior violations
Submitting false information in an appeal is itself a violation and may result in a more severe penalty.
Decisions on permanent bans may be appealed once. If the appeal is denied, the decision is final.
Policy 6: Impersonation & Scam Prevention Policy
This policy covers impersonation of official staff and player-run scams that target others in the VoltNexus community.
Impersonating NexCore Staff or Official Channels
No NexCore Studios employee, Nexus Warden (community moderator), or official VoltNexus account will:
- Ask you for your password or account credentials — ever
- Offer free Flux, Volt, or items through a private message
- Contact you through Discord, Reddit, or social media claiming to resolve account issues
- Ask you to visit a third-party website to "verify" your account
All legitimate communication from NexCore Studios comes through:
- In-game system messages (no username attached)
- Email from an @voltnexus.com address
- support.voltnexus.com
- The official VoltNexus Discord: discord.gg/voltnexus (verified server only)
If someone contacts you claiming to be NexCore staff through any other channel, do not respond or click any links. Report it at support.voltnexus.com/report.
Player Impersonation
Creating a username or Crew name designed to impersonate another player — especially a well-known player, streamer, or community figure — is prohibited. This includes:
- Names that closely mimic another player's username with minor character substitutions
- Claiming to be another player to conduct trades, scams, or harassment on their behalf
Common Scam Tactics
These scam patterns have been reported in the VoltNexus community. Recognizing them protects you:
- "Send first" trades: Any offer where you must send Volt, items, or account access before receiving anything in return should be treated with suspicion. Legitimate trades happen through the in-game trade window or The Exchange.
- Fake contest DMs: Messages saying you won a giveaway and must click a link to claim your prize. Official contests are announced only through verified channels listed above.
- Credential phishing: Websites that look like the VoltNexus login page but are designed to steal your username and password. Always check the URL before entering credentials.
- "I'm quitting" sales: Players claiming to be quitting the game and offering to sell their Volt, items, or account for cash. This is an RMT violation regardless of the reason.
Reporting Scams & Impersonation
- In-game: Right-click the player's username → Report → RMT/Scam
- Web: support.voltnexus.com/report
If you believe you have been the victim of a scam that involved real-world money, contact your bank or payment provider and report it at support.voltnexus.com.
Impersonating NexCore staff or conducting organized scam operations will result in a permanent ban. In cases involving financial fraud, the matter may be referred to law enforcement.
